Hampton, VA - Get ready for the return of the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival. This year's extravaganza takes place from February 23-26 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. This event is the largest quilting extravaganza on the Eastern Seaboard. This year marks 34 years of quilt, wearable and textile art presented by Mancuso Show Management, Inc. The festival will provide quilting fanatics and avid needle crafters with a magnificent display of over 500 quilts, wearables, and textile works of art in competitions and special exhibits. There will also be workshops and lectures offered by a faculty of world-renowned instructors.
The Merchants Mall will present the best in fabrics, notions, machines, wearable art, and everything for the quilter, textile artist and needlecraft enthusiast. This year's quilt competition, themed "Heart & Soul," offers entrants an opportunity to tell festival goers how they reach inside themselves to create! In addition, the festival will feature a Modern Category in the quilt competition themed "Mid-Century Mod." While attending, be sure to explore the Wearable Art Competition where attendees can find unique full ensembles, vest, jacket and coat entries on display.
From award-winning quilters to those who would like to sew their first stitch, festival goers can attend workshops and lectures that will introduce them to the latest innovations in the quilting world. Workshops include knitting, embellishments, 3-D folded fabric, traditional and modern quilting, mosaics and much more. This year's workshops and lectures will be offered by a stellar line-up of instructors teaching all skill levels. Attendees will not want to miss the "best time you'll ever have" at a quilt festival at Quilt-O, the annual fashion show, and the Meet & Greet event where guests can meet the festival's faculty.
