If you long for a cruising destination that feels like home and lacks the crowds of George Town, Salt Pond should be at the top of your list. Those looking for early morning exercise will be invigorated by a morning run on the beach. Or you could bring your yoga mat to the beachside cruisers “yacht club,” marked by a rusted-out bicycle. This is also the site of evening sundowner get-togethers. Don’t wait for an invitation; just grab something to share and enjoy the camaraderie.
In the small settlement, you'll find excellent provisioning and a great hardware and marine supply store. With a rental car, Salt Pond makes a great spot to explore the rest of Long Island. The town dinghy dock is located between So' Side Cafe and the Farmers Market. It was built by a private resident - consider leaving a donation for its upkeep if you can.
