| Noteworthy: | There's about 250' of linear dockage on the inside of the pier. The first couple hundred feet of pier from the entrance light has wood pilings and substantial cleats and make for easy mooring. Several hundred more feet of pier are available but there are no pilings, just a corrugated steel/concrete (there are lots of cleats here but there is also leftover strut and connection points from previous finger piers) Downtown is a 7 minute walk away down the pier and the Tawas area is great with plenty of amenities. There are public restrooms available in the same building as the marina restrooms/shower and of course a beautiful beach. We enjoy this free dock regularly as an easy means to meet up with family and friends in the Tawas area. |
