Tall Ships?
Tall ships occasionally come up the York River and will take your breath away as you’re transported back to earlier centuries of discovery, colonization, and the American Revolution. The Nao Trinidad made a stop in Yorktown during her voyage back to Spain. The Nao Trinidad was the flagship of the Magellan-Elcano expedition and led the first sailing around the world from 1519-1522, one of the greatest maritime feats in history. Today the Yorktown waterfront is a charming respite from the hustle of busy cities and highways along one of the Chesapeake Bay’s most prominent tributaries. See you there soon… |
