Deltaville is packed with maritime history, and there’s no better place to experience it than the Deltaville Maritime Museum. This expansive museum brings maritime history to life with incredible exhibits that begin with the catastrophic impact of the Delmarva meteorite 35 million years ago and chronicle the more modern period of wooden boatbuilding beginning in the late 1800s. One could spend an entire day exploring this museum, and during the summer season, the museum’s outdoor space comes to life with live concert events, farmers markets and even a Family Boatbuilding Week where the whole family can learn what it’s like to build a wooden boat with their own hands.

Another unique piece of history can be found just up the road from the Deltaville Maritime Museum at the Historic Deltaville Ballpark, the oldest all-wooden baseball stadium in Virginia.
