Oxford
- Location: Chesapeake Bay - Town Creek
- Lat / Lon: N 38° 41.432' / W 076° 10.110'
- Depth: 8
- Description:
Very well protected anchorage and surrounded by marinas and private residences. There is space for only a couple of boats here. Make sure you do not block the narrow channel. Only issue for me is that bottom was not holding for me. I needed about 6 tries until finally catching heavy mud, and this only 7 knots winds. Your experience may be different. Access to town is very convenient. I tied the dinghy in the public pier of Market Street and walked to restaurants, a small convenient store, parks, and a beautiful town where everyone says hello.
