- Description:
Hetty’s Land is an out crop of rock about midway down the length of Great Guana Cay. The claim to fame for this spot is that it is at the narrowest part of the cay and a mere 200 yds separates the bank from the deeper waters of Exuma Sound. If one climbs to the high ground during a period of strong east wind it is possible to get some very interesting photographs of a churned up angry Exuma Sound on one side and a sparkling calm aqua blue bank on the other. The anchorage lies in the lee of the high ground and offers good protection from north through east and solid holding in clear sand. There is a small beach to land your dinghy for those who wish to stretch their legs ashore. For those who prefer to be alone Hetty’s Land will fill the bill.
