Little Norman's Cay
- Lat / Lon: N 24° 39.064' / W 076° 48.780'
- Depth: 8'-10'
- Tide: 2.5'-3.0'
- Description:
The anchorage lies in a small gap between Little Norman's Cay (or Saddle Cay as indicated on some charts) and Galleon Point on the north tip of Norman's Cay. The anchorage is almost totally enclosed by relatively high land on 3 sides and by a drying sandbar which is part of the Galleon Bank to the west. The protection and holding are excellent for winds from any direction which makes it a good anchorage for a cold front passage. The caveats with this anchorage are 1. It is surrounded by private property which means there is no going ashore and 2. The entrance to the anchorage is through a narrow opening in the rocks that is guarded with a 5.5' hard bar. Once through the gap however conditions become instantly calmer.
