  ​There is an area of sand just north of the entrance channel to Davis Harbour that can provide a secure but usually rolly place to stop and rest. Like most of the coastline in the area the bottom is hard, but here there is a band of sand that provides adequate holding. It is not a place to ride out heavy weather, but it could be a reasonable alternative to transiting the Davis Channel in the dark.
