- Description:
Fiddle Cay is an uninhabited spit of rock that is next to a rocky point at the east end of Crab Cay. There is a narrow cut in between that sports a raging current that can penetrate into the anchorage area. The Fiddle Cay anchorage is an exposed area of water that lies between Crab Rock and the bank side of Fiddle Cay. There is a large awash rock that lies in the middle of the anchoring area so vessels must anchor between it and the beaches of Fiddle Cay or between it and Crab rock to the south. Anchoring to the north of the rock exposes vessels to the turbulent current in the cut between Fiddle and Crab Cays.
During the Cheeseburger in Paradise party organizers will cordon off the area immediately in front of the beach with lines of floats to create a swim area about the size of a football field. Vessels will begin arriving early filling the anchorage often anchoring against the swim floats.
