Wells Bay

• Description: Wells Bay is a large anchorage that is well protected from northeast to south southeast. Once the winds shift out of these quadrants, however, an annoying swell will develop that is more pronounced during tide changes. The bay is defined by two rocky arms cradling a beautiful sandy beach that is perfect spot to exercise your pets.   When entering the anchorage, favor the northern portion between the two arms. The south side of the anchorage has numerous coral heads lurking only a few feet below the surface. The best holding is found in the northeast portion of the bay in 9-12’ of water over a sand bottom. Much of the bay is covered with grass that offers questionable holding.
