  Little Petit Cay is north of the much larger Petit Cay and in prevailing easterly winds offers much better protection than its larger cousin. A large sandbar that runs between Little Petit and the eastern shore of Great Harbour Cay blocks passage directly south for any vessel drawing more than 2.5’ at low tide. It is this bar and the mass of Petit Cay that creates a pocket of calm in an area that is otherwise rolly in prevailing winds.
