  February 16, 2022. Sam of WhatYachtToDo on a training and delivery journey. SeaRay 480MY with a 4-ft draft. Due to a very strong NNW wind predicted all evening we went upstream. The canal shallowed from 18 feet to 13 by this point almost uniformly. I dropped at 29°50.284'N • 94°0.113'W. Good holding in 21 mph with gusts all night. We did not budge. Anchor came up easily, but required about 20 buckets of water to wash down as we weighed it. Oh, that black mud!
