Old Harbor - Outer Breakwater

A good alternative if the inner harbor is full. Open to the north and northeast. Be careful of the shoaling at the end of the breakwater, then anchor in 6 to 9 ft of water. Not recommended in anything but a south or southwesterly breeze.

You can dingy to the inner harbor with easy access to the shops and restaurants of Old Harbor. Pull your dingy onto the beach to the north west corner of the breakwater. Be wary of the heavy ferry and boat traffic and turning area inside the harbor.
