  When the Wind pipes up from the SE, The usual Highbourne anchorage can be a bit lively. This sheltered bay offers seclusion and good SE. & E. wave protection in the 7.5' areas marked clearly on Explorer charts. The VPR route (Narrow Channel) to shortcut to Allen's Cut. is more generous than it seems and we saw no less than 8' 1hr before Low tide. Explorer charts accurately show the rocky bars and coral heads that can be easily avoided with VPR to reach the anchorage. Current through Allen's Cut is noticeable until you reach the anchorage.
