Anchorage Information

Rock Sound Harbor (Northwest)

  • Location: Eleuthera
  • Lat / Lon: N 24° 53.369' / W 076° 11.157'
  • Depth: 1.2 meters
  • Description:

This is a great spot to anchor in for strong North/Northwest winds. Depths are 5+ feet until pretty close to shore and are deeper in general than on Explorer and NAVIONICS charts. There are a few small beaches that you can go ashore, although you need to watch for trees/mangroves and coral shelf bottom. Holding is excellent with lots of sand. Once winds shift, it's a short motor to move closer to town.
