Palm Beach Currie Park
- Location: Lake Worth
- Mile Marker: 1020.9
- Lat / Lon: N 26° 43.846' / W 080° 02.607'
- Depth: 9 feet
- Tide: 3 feet
- Description:
The anchorages close to the Palm Beach inlet have become busier and busier, with more "private" moorings taking up the field. And often boats are pointing in various directions with different rode types and lengths making it difficult to determine if enough room exists between the many boats. Anchoring for a short stay just isn't fun. Heading south, before the Flagler Bridge, but after the spoils and shallows, you can find 5-6 feet MLW east of the ICW. In this area you only have boats transiting the ICW on the West side, so there tend to be less wakes. If you're just stopping for a night or two without the need to go ashore, you'll have a quieter spot than the North anchorages. Cell service is excellent here for all providers. No open WiFi seen. Day docks are very close at Currie Park on the West shore, which has several boat ramps and separate "staging" docks for loading/unloading people and supplies. Pharmacies and small family groceries can be found in the neighborhoods bordering the park.
NOTE: Per Florida Statute 327.4109
The owner or operator of a vessel or floating structure may not anchor or moor such that the nearest approach of the anchored or moored vessel or floating structure is:
- Within 150 feet of any marina, boat ramp, boatyard, or other vessel launching or loading facility;
- Within 300 feet of a superyacht repair facility. For purposes of this subparagraph, the term "superyacht repair facility" means a facility that services or repairs a yacht with a water line of 120 feet or more in length; or
- Within 100 feet outward from the marked boundary of a public mooring field or a lesser distance if approved by the commission upon request of a local government within which the mooring field is located. The commission may adopt rules to implement this subparagraph.
