Anchorage Information

Safety Harbor

  • Location: Old Tampa Bay
  • Lat / Lon: N 27° 59.343' / W 082° 40.985'
  • Depth: 6
  • Tide: 2-3 feet
  • Description:

This area is protected from the wind. It is 6-8ft deep and not very many boats. You can bring your dinghy to shore at the Safety Harbor Park where there is a small beach. When we last visited, there was 15kts of South wind and it was rough going south of route 60, but here there were hardly any waves. We were visited by many dolphins that day. There is also free dock parking if you want to drive into the Safety Harbor Marina and a free boat ramp. The town is fun if you want to get something to eat or if you like shopping.
