Sisters Creek - Boot Key Harbor
- Lat / Lon: N 24° 41.888' / W 081° 05.446'
- Description:
When the mooring field is full Sisters Creek is a better anchoring alternative than the anchorages in the western or eastern ends of the harbor. The holding is good and there is good protection from the winds in all directions. The recommended way to anchor here is to drop an anchor ~100 ft from the mangroves on the west side of the creek and back into the mangroves med mooring style. Once the stern is secured to the mangroves tighten the anchor rode to hold the bow steady. During the peak of the season there can be twenty or more boats tied up med mooring style along the length of the creek. It is important to watch the antenna field on the east side of the creek. Avoid the area where the four antennas line up. It is a very powerful beam that will project RF into your boat and cause all sorts of strange electronic glitches.
