Cape Poge Bay
- Location: Martha's Vineyard
- Lat / Lon: N 41° 23.787' / W 070° 28.441'
- Depth: 8-9 feet
- Description:
The town of Edgartown does not permit overnight anchorage on Cape Poge Bay; however it is a nice day anchorage or dinghy exploration area. The narrow passage into the bay is marked by green can buoy 7 located about a thousand yards due west of the entry. Shoaling restricts the passage of deep-draft boats much beyond North Neck, and cautious skippers might choose to anchor before reaching the inner shallows preceding the 9- to 10-foot-deep center bay (at MLW). The approximately 2-foot tidal range here should discourage boats of more than a 4-foot draft from attempting passage to the inner bay, even on a rising tide.
