Chub Cay
- Location: Berry Islands, Bahamas
- Lat / Lon: N 25° 24.631' / W 077° 54.894'
- Depth: 10'-15'
- Tide: 2.5'-3.0'
- Description:
The anchorage at Chub Cay is exposed from all directions except east. As with other anchorages on the south side of the Berrys, there is almost always a swell...it’s just a matter of degree. The holding is good and the access is straightforward, and for a crew tired from a long passage across the Great Bahama Bank, stopping at Chub Cay for a rest is an understandable choice, especially if the objective is to clear Customs at the marina. In addition to the swell, your vessel will also be subjected to constant wakes as the marina is a favorite for sportfishers who arrive in fast-moving, wake-generating craft of all shapes and sizes. It is not uncommon to see a line of +60’ sportfishing vessels leaving the marina on plane!
