Anchorage Information

Little Harbour Cay

  • Location: Barry Islands, Bahamas
  • Lat / Lon: N 25° 35.008' / W 077° 43.552'
  • Depth: 6 feet
  • Description: At first sight, particularly if you see it at high water, this anchorage looks like a perfect place. But unless your vessel is shoal draft, there is only one place you can anchor, and that is over the mid-channel sand patches in line with the north end of Cabbage Cay. There is just room for two boats to anchor here. The tidal current is strong, runs north to south and produces a 180-degree swing every six hours. Dive on your anchor to ensure it is set. If in doubt, dig it in by hand.
