- Description:
There are 10 BNT moorings installed in a wide Bay on the north end of Hawksbill Cay, just south of the Hawksbill Bank. The mooring field is well protected from prevailing winds from NE to SE and there is little swell, even when conditions pick up.
The anchorage lies off the beach between the north edge of the Hawksbill Cay North mooring field and the high ground of the Cay. There is good protection from NE to SE winds and acceptable protection from the north with little swell even when the winds exceed 20knots. When the winds shift into westerly quadrants, however an uncomfortable chop will build rapidly once the winds approach 20 knots. The holding is excellent provided care is taken to avoid the small patches of grass that dot the anchorage.
