- Description:
Laughing Bird Cay is a small island that lies off the south side of Governor’s Harbour. The cay acts as breakwater for the local fisherman’s dock and boat ramp where it is possible to buy fresh fish at the end of the day when the fishermen return. The anchorage is southeast of the cay towards the cell tower. Do not attempt to anchor between Laughing Bird Cay and the shoreline. The bottom is hard and there is submerged debris. There is good holding and protection from the north through east. Deeper drafted vessels or those wishing to anchor in deeper water while visiting Governors harbour will find this anchorage to be a viable option. Land your dinghy on the beach next to the queens highway and turn right for the Esso Station, BTC Store and Burrows Supermarket which are a short distance away.
