Great Stirrup Cay - Slaughter Harbour
- Location: Berry Islands
- Lat / Lon: N 25° 49.080' / W 077° 55.451'
- Depth: 10-15Feet
- Tide: 2.5'-3.0'
- Description:
There is a protected bay between the two Stirrup Cays called Slaughter Harbour. Despite being totally open from the south, the anchorage is remarkably well protected from winds in all directions except the north. A large part of the protection is due to the very shallow water south of the bay. The shallow sand bank that defines the harbour is only wading depth for many miles to the south and forms a natural breakwater, preventing the seas from building.
