Pilot fees have increased for transiting the tricky Devils Backbone reef on the way in or out of lovely Harbour Island, Bahamas (pg 219, Waterway Guide Bahamas Edition 2016). Most pilots charge a minimum of $100 one-way, and very large vessels could cost $300 or more. Check with pilot services in Spanish Wells or with area marinas for details.
